The Amzing Hercules

No, this blog post isn't about the Greek hero but rather the amazing airplane: The  Lockheed C-130 Hercules.  Many of you may have heard of this historic plane given the fact that it is the oldest continually produced plane in history!  This plane is making headlines for two reasons, first for its 60th anniversary, and second for its star role in the block buster movie, 'Furious 7'. 'Furious 7', the seventh installment in the Fast and Furious franchise uses the C-130 in its newest and most outrageous stunt.  The filmmakers dropped several cars from the plane and parachuted them to the ground!  If you don't believe, watch this video!

Granted this stunt may be a little outlandish for use in reality but it does a fantastic job at showcasing the Hercules.  There's a reason this plane has been produced for so long and it lies in it's wide capabilities.  from flying military missions only 35 feet off the ground, to landing on an aircraft carrier, to saving a plane from a category 5 hurricane, this plane has literally done it all.  the military loves it for its huge cargo capacity, easy cargo drops, and unheard of ability to land on short and improvised runways
If a video of a plane that size landing on a ship doesn't amaze you, I guarantee the next video will

Yes, that is a regular c-130 taking off with the assist of solid rocket fuel!  This plane can do it and all and 60 years from its inauguration, it still has numerous feasible jobs on the front lines of war.  This plane is magnificent and will most likely be used for years to come. weather it be filming movies, or dropping bombs on the enemy, the C-130 is the plane to choose.
